Ruben's Insight

Historical Salute

"I deliberately reject industrial laminated puff pastry. Instead, our Mo honors the true ancient grain legacy of Northern China. Every single flatbread is hand-shaped, lightly leavened, and slow-baked over iron plates until it releases an intense wheat fragrance. When this 1,300-year-old recipe drifts through the historic 2,000-year-old streets of Devon, it is our humble salute to history."

Ruben's Insight

Local Picnic Design

"To give Exeter a completely safe and refreshing gluten-free lunch option, our Liangpi is made entirely from a 100% pure rice starch foundation. Because it contains zero wheat or animal fats, it stays perfectly light and refreshing at ambient temperatures — making it the ultimate clean-eating takeaway choice for sunny lunch breaks on the Cathedral Green."

Biangbian Noodles

"Freshly hand-pulled wide ribbon noodles served with a comforting, deeply savory classic Northwest family recipe: sweet vine-ripened tomatoes slowly stewed over low fire into a rich sauce with fluffy scrambled egg blankets, we achieve a fragrant, warm complexity that clings beautifully to the thick noodles pulled by a father's hand."

The Sacred Covenant

A manifesto of migration, spiritual pursuit
and moral precision in Exeter's independent culinary landscape.

The Three Dimensions of Fatherhood

The First Dimension

The Bread of Provision
A Father's Silent Language

While the world rightfully praises the comforting warmth of a mother's kitchen, Rogamo stands by a different altar. We invite you to taste the deep, quiet, and unannounced love of a father who feeds his home.

Lao Ru, known warmly to the Exeter community as Ruben, is a father. He crossed an ocean to support his daughter's education in the UK. When faced with unexpected disruptions in a foreign land, he chose to stand directly by the roaring fire of the kitchen hearth at 33 Sidwell Street to shoulder the responsibility of her tuition. Ruben's devotion does not need to explain itself; it materializes in the absolute consistency of daily labor. It is measured in the hours spent slow-simmering master stock, the heavy kinetic energy of hand-kneading wheat, and the silent, unyielding determination to provide.

The Second Dimension

The Spiritual Journey
Chasing Truth Across Frontiers

Before lighting a commercial kitchen fire in Devon, Ruben spent decades working as a senior investigative journalist at Xin Jing Bao (The Beijing News), using rigorous, precise prose to pursue justice, civic ideals, and moral clarity. A father is not just a provider of shelter; he is intended to be a spiritual anchor, a seeker of truth across frontiers.

When life presented major structural disruptions, he did not waver. He met the unknown with quiet courage, settling in Exeter and translating his intense journalistic integrity into honest, unmanipulated culinary craft. Every dish is handled with the same reverence for authenticity as an uncounterfeited front-page headline. Through this dedication, Ruben's transition becomes a profound act of integration — a humble gesture of belonging and a salute to this historic 2,000-year-old Roman trading city.

The Third Dimension

The Heavenly Provider
Daily Bread, Daily Grace

Beyond our earthly tables lies the ultimate sovereignty that guides our hands. As Christian husbands and fathers, we openly recognize that every resource, every grain of rice, and every breath of life flows directly from our Heavenly Father. He is the ultimate Sustainer who feeds every living soul on this earth.

In our kitchen, the ancient prayer *'Give us this day our daily bread'* is an active, living testament of faith. Every single meal prepared under our roof is shaped with a prayer of gratitude. Every plate you receive at Ruben's counter is a sincere invitation to taste and see that grace is real, practical, and beautifully alive at the communal table. We operate under His constant provision, passing on the blessings we have so freely received.

Contact

Our company was established in November 2021. Rogamo is our first restaurant in Exeter and is one of the favourite restaurants among locals. Everyone is welcome to taste the real best Asian food.

Our company's main business is catering: opening and operating Asian-style restaurants, and developing Asian cuisine. Our goal is to use local British ingredients to make Asian food so that local customers can taste authentic Asian delicacies. While still maintaining employees diversification, our employment principle is to hire and train more local employees in each restaurant location, providing more local job opportunities.

We are planning to expand our business and open branches in other areas of the UK. We welcome talented people to work with us and enjoy the joy that good food brings to our customers.
